Governor Tony Evers is ordering flags be flown at half-staff Friday in honor of a Columbia County fire inspector who died of COVID complications. David Jerald Tomlinson died December 6th after contracting the virus in the line of duty. Tomlinson was a member of the Poynette-Dekorra Fire Department for 31 years. The governor’s order says “before that, he contributed to his community by working for the U-S Postal Service for 32 years and as a fixture in local youth sports.” There’s a private family funeral for Tomlinson on Friday.
