A Fairchild man died yesterday morning (3/22) after being trapped by a water pump in a pond. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 9-11 call was made yesterday (3/22) morning around 9:40 of a man who had gone underwater and had not yet resurfaced at W15356 Garfield Road in the Town of Curran. Upon arrival, first responders discovered that the man was performing maintenance on the pump, when it rolled, pinning the man under the water, which was about 11-12ft deep. First responders used heavy machinery to locate and remove the man from the pond, and lifesaving measures were attempted, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was identified as 44-year-old Tony Killian of Fairchild.
