On October 2, 2024, at about 6:00 PM, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a
residence in the Town of Manchester on a report of a person injured while farming.
On scene, first responders located a 13-year-old who had been submerged by crops. The
subject was removed from the crops and transported from the scene for further medical
treatment. The juvenile was later declared deceased.
The name of the juvenile will not be released at this time.
The case is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by
the Black River Falls Ambulance and the Black River Falls Fire Department.
