A fatal rollover crash occurred just after midnight on Saturday, November 15th, on West Blair Road near County Highway N in Jackson County, south of Taylor.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a westbound pickup truck left the roadway, struck a power pole, and overturned. Two people were inside the vehicle.
Thirty-four-year-old Casey James Kersting of Black River Falls was taken to Black River Falls Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Thirty-two-year-old Cortney Ellis Schultz of Blair died at the scene.
Authorities say it’s still unclear who was driving at the time of the crash. Alcohol was involved, and the investigation is ongoing.
Assisting agencies included the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor and Blair first responders and fire departments, Gundersen Air, Black River Falls Rescue, and the Jackson County Medical Examiner.
