A fire in North Bend on Saturday afternoon has left the Riverview Inn a complete loss. The Melrose Fire Department was paged to a report of a grass fire shortly after 3:00, and later discovered it to actually be a structure fire involving the Riverview Inn. It’s reported that a burn barrel was near the building before the fire, and it’s believed that high winds caused the fire to spread and engulf the building. The Riverview Inn has been around since the 1970’s and was in the process of being remodeled. No injuries were reported, and the building is considered to be a total loss.
