Flag Lowering for Jackson County

Governor Evers has asked me to inform you that he has authorized Jackson County officials,
as well as officials of municipalities within Jackson County, to lower the flags of the United
States and State of Wisconsin in Jackson County to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on
Thursday, August 15, 2024, in honor of retired Jackson County Sheriff and Alma Center
Volunteer Fire Department Firefighter Gary James Cummings. Additionally, he has
authorized Jackson County officials, as well as officials of municipalities within Jackson
County, to lower the flags of the United States and State of Wisconsin in Jackson County to
half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in honor of retired Taylor
Fire and Rescue Firefighter John Duane Joten.
