Free Racewalking Clinic

The Community First Fox Cities Marathon Presented by Miron Construction is helping racewalkers improve their technique with the help of Jordan Crawford, 2024 USA Olympic Team hopeful and winner of the 2023 ThedaCare Half Marathon Competitive Walk with the Fox Cities Marathon. The free racewalking clinic will take place on Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. at Community First Credit Union’s headquarters, located at 1575 Dresang Way in Neenah (map). While the racewalking clinic is free, participants are asked to register by visiting http://www.foxcitiesmarathon.org/training-events/race-walking-clinic/.

Crawford, a USA Track & Field Certified Official for Racewalking, will not only answer questions during the clinic, but will actively assist racewalkers in refining their form. This interactive clinic, featuring live demonstrations, expects attendees to actively participate, practicing walking techniques in real time. To get the most out of this engaging session, participants are encouraged to come prepared with proper footwear for walking, dressed in comfortable attire and equipped with sun protection and a water bottle.

“We are so grateful that we can offer participants direct access to an athlete of Jordan’s caliber right here in northeast Wisconsin,” said Julie Johnson, Fox Cities Marathon race director. “Over the years, we have seen significant growth and enthusiasm surrounding racewalking. With Jordan leading our racewalking clinic in Neenah, we are bringing our community together while also placing us at the forefront of promoting racewalking as a sport on the rise. It’s a testament to our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive athletic community, encouraging everyone to achieve their personal best in the event of their choice.”

All paces and levels of racewalkers are welcome, from those curious about the sport to those who actively compete in racewalking. Attendees of the racewalking clinic can look forward to an immersive learning experience that covers:
