Gertie Evelyn Erickson, age 95, of Blair, died on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Gertie was born on September 28, 1926 in Ettrick to Emil and Gina (Tranberg) Onsrud. She married Raymond Erickson on November 16, 1946 in the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick. Raymond preceded Gertie in death on April 9, 1973.

Gertie was a faithful member of the Living Hope Lutheran Church WELCA and the church quilting group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Gertie loved baking for friends and family, especially chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Flower gardening was her summer joy.

Gertie is survived by a son, James (Betsy) Erickson of rural Ettrick; a daughter, Jean (Wayne) Wilber of Onalaska; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gertie was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Erickson; a daughter, Barbara Starkey; a grandson, Leif Erickson; a step-granddaughter, Jessica Starkey; two sisters, Mabel Engelien and Selma Hoff; a brother, Henry Onsrud and a special niece, Audrey Berg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in the Living Hope Lutheran Church in Ettrick with Pastor John Ashland officiating. Burial will be in the Ettrick Public Cemetery in rural Ettrick.

Friends may call from noon until the time of service.

Memorials may be designated to the Living Hope Lutheran Church or the Ettrick Public Cemetery.
