Governor Tony Evers signed an executive order today declaring a state of emergency following the protests that have been happening in communities across Wisconsin.

The protests are in response to the police-involved shooting of Jacob Blake that occurred on Sunday in Kenosha. The state of emergency will activate the Wisconsin National Guard to help assist law enforcement maintain public safety and peaceful protests to occur. Up to 250 members of the WI National Guard will be in Kenosha County.
