New Years Eve, 2023 brought the border battle game of the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.
In week 8 of the NFL season, the Vikings beat the Packers at Lambeau Field, 24-10. New Year’s Eve was a time of redemption from week 8, but also a much needed win for the Packers to continue in the hunt for a playoff berth.
The Packers scored first in the game at U.S. Bank Stadium, with a field goal in the first quarter. The Pack stayed true to their redemption hopes, scoring a touchdown less than two minutes later, ending the first quarter with a score of 10-0 Packers.
The second quarter, the Vikings got on the board with a field goal, but the Packers answered back with a touchdown by quarterback Jordan Love, and another touchdown just before the end of the half, giving the Pack a 23-3 lead.
The Pack scored yet another touchdown in the third quarter, 30-3 Pack.
The Vikings came together in the 4th quarter, scoring their first touchdown of the night. The Packers answered back with a 37 yard field goal by Anders Carlson, giving the Pack a win on the road over the Vikings 33-10 to ring in 2024.
Green Bay will take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday, January 7 at home. The game is scheduled for a 3:25pm kickoff. The Pack will need to win over the Bears to clinch a playoff berth.
