Gregory Demetri Gromoff, age 58, died Wednesday February 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving family and caregivers.
Greg was born October 1, 1962 in Chicago IL to Constantine and Irene Gertrude (Malleck-Snowball) Gromoff Sr. Greg was a high school graduate whose favorite job while growing up was ranching. For 11 years, Greg got great joy from being a ranch hand at the HoChunk Bison Ranch, until its closing. Greg was formerly married on January 18, 1992 to Barbara Ann Lewis and later divorced yet remained close friends.
Greg was a spontaneous, open-minded and very social individual. He enjoyed fishing, loved eating fried bread, and took pride in helping others as a driver for others who needed help getting around. He loved to talk with others, often reminiscing and telling of the old stories and the HoChunk heritage. He was a wonderful practical joker, especially when it came to his own lost finger jokes and how it came to pass. He was a family man who loved his grandbabies dearly. God bless our memories of Greg, he will truly be missed.
Surviving Greg are his sons Lance Cub Lewis and Steven Nickaboine; his daughter Jamie Lee Gromoff; his grandchildren Savannah, Ayden and Azaelea Nickaboine and Abraham and Adline Gauthier; his brothers Clinton Lee Gromoff, Michael Allen Gromoff, Bernard Danasha and Ronald Martin; his sisters Angela Kay (Joel) Smith and Laura Connors; as well as his aunt Mildred Decorah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Constantine Gromoff Jr. and Linda Sheegonee; his uncles Lawrence, Daniel, Luke Jr., Frank, Phillip and Gordon Snowball and his aunts Lorraine Carrimon, Matilda Whitedog and Exhilda Goodbear.
