The human remains found at Fort McCoy over the weekend have been identified. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office had identified that the remains found belonged to 45-year-old Christopher Doeslaere, formerly of Tomah. A hunter found the remains on Saturday outside of the gated or controlled areas. Doeslaere was involved in vehicle pursuit on September 10th, but Sparta Police terminated the pursuit due to Doeslaere’s reckless operation of his motorcycle. Shortly after the pursuit ended, a citizen reported seeing an abandoned motorcycle on STH 16 between Sparta and Tomah. It was determined by law enforcement that the motorcycle was the same as in the pursuit, but they were unable to find the driver, believed to be Doeslaere. The cause of death is undetermined due to advanced decomposition.
