Jerome “Joe” Hanson, 72, of Blair, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at his home after a short battle with cancer.
He was born September 26, 1949, in Whitehall, WI to Everett and Dolores (Roessler) Hanson. IN 1967, he graduated from Blair High School and then attended UW-Eau Claire and grad school in Madison. Joe married Cindy Lee of Chippewa Falls, WI in 1971.
Joe will forever remain in the hears of his wife Cindy; two sons: Dominic (Svetlana) of Destin, FL, and Damien (Amanda) of Bend, OR; two granddaughters: Eva Madalyn and Mila Judel of Destin, FL, and grandson: Henry Warwick of Bend, OR; three brothers: William (Delpha) of Hudson, WI, Mark of Blair, and Paul of Seattle; sister: Sue (Don) Jenkins of Corvalis, OR; three nieces: Jodi (Steve) Barnet, Jenny (Tracey) Hanson, and Keely (Greg) Deacon; nephew: Freeman (Julie) Jenkins; and many other friends.
Joe milked cows for 25 years and cash cropped for 21 years. Farming was his passion, and he was an AMPI member since 1975; Divisional and Regional Director for AMPI; and chairman for AMPI Promotion Research. He also served on the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. Joe was a life member of the FFA Alumni and served as President for the local chapter. Joe was an honorable man with a gentle heart. He loved adventure and fishing.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Thomas; and mother-in-law: Ima Lee.
