The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding ATV and UTV riders to stay sober this Fourth of July weekend. The DNR says there have already been 23 ATV/UTV fatalities in Wisconsin this year, with alcohol and speed among the leading factors. Last year, the state recorded 300 crashes, 42 deaths, and 255 OWI citations involving off-highway vehicles. Officials urge riders to designate a sober driver, wear helmets and seatbelts, obey speed limits and trail signs, and consider taking a safety course. The DNR says responsible riding can help prevent tragedies and keep the holiday weekend safe.
