A southwest Wisconsin man is dead after a tree cutting accident Wednesday afternoon near Ontario. The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office says 37-year-old Raymond Miller from Cashton was cutting down a 60-feet red oak when it became caught in another tree as it was falling. Deputies say the bottom tree kicked out and the tree fell on Miller. Another person tried to cut Miller free before running to get help. First responders attempted to save him but Miller died at the scene.
