You are invited to enjoy an evening of hymns and original songs with Christian singer and songwriter
Mike Westendorf and his band at the Lunda Park Bandshell. This free concert in the park is Tuesday,
June 9, at 7 p.m. Mike and his band are being sponsored by Faith Lutheran Church in Black River Falls.
That is the heartbeat of this Christian artist, meteorologist, husband, and father of three.
With a passion for sharing the life changing power of God Grace through music and speaking events,
Mike has been sharing this story as an artist and worship leader in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran
Synod (WELS) since 2004. In 2007 Mike began to do everyday life with young men and women in both
secular and Christian environments. From his time in at UW-Milwaukee Innovative Weather, his work
in Campus Ministry through "The Point of Grace" and as the Founder and Director of Awake and Alive, a
ministry event for 18-25-year olds, God has given Mike a passion for walking with 18-25 year olds as
they move through the journey of coming to know, own and make known that gift of Grace. Believing in
the power of building a bridge between generations, Mike’s insights and experiences are an inspiration to
those who long to share the hope of Christ with young adults. From Milwaukee, WI and a member of the
ministry team at St. Paul Muskego, Mike has been married to his wife Melissa since 1997 and together
have three children.
Mike has been recording music since 2002 and has released 8 albums that span musical genres from rock
to classical. While he has been compared to other well-known artists such as Matt Maher, Chris Tomlin
and Mike Donehey (10th Ave. North), his live musical presence is his own – always engaging, down to
earth and accessible. The common theme in all of his live and recorded music has been the quality of his
story telling and the inspiration that his listeners take away from the experience of joy that comes from
the story of God’s faithfulness. Rooted in the foundation of Psalm 89:1-4, Mike’s music and ministry
breathes life into its hearers because of the only foundation that matters – Jesus!
In addition to sponsoring Mike and his band, Faith Lutheran is providing free popcorn and lemonade
before the concert in the park. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. In case of a stormy weather tune to
