The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has released updated information on the homicide that occurred in Sparta earlier this month. According to the press release, 36-year-old Thomas Aspseter is charged with first degree intentional homicide for killing 87-year-old Bernard Waite on June 6th. Aspseter had previously lived in the house with Bernard, and his wife, who is his grandmother, but was not living in the house at the time, as he was asked to leave. Aspseter is also charged with two counts of first degree intentional homicide after also attacking Michael and Margaret Waite, of Exeland, WI, and were also at the house at the time of attack. Additional charges include 3 counts of aggravated battery with the use of a dangerous weapon.
