On March 5, 2024, the Hiring Committee for the City of Black River Falls selected
Travis P. Brown as the new Chief of Police / Criminal Investigator for the Black
River Falls Police Department. Brown has been employed with the Jackson
County Sheriff’s Department since 1999 serving in several roles and most recently
as a Lieutenant. The City’s Hiring Committee received 4 applications for the
position. Brown is expected to begin his tenure as Chief of Police / Criminal
Investigator for the City of Black River Falls Police Department on April 6, 2024,
and one of his first tasks will be to hire one full-time patrol officer and additional
part-time patrol officers for the department.
