With his small plane dangling from a power line after hitting a utility pole, a pilot from Minnesota escaped injury as he jumped to the ground Wednesday morning. The pilot’s name hasn’t been released. He said he was trying to land the ultra-light plane when it got snagged on the line. The plane sustained minor damage. A work crew from Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative was on the scene between Bloomer and New Auburn, replacing the utility pole that snapped during the crash.
