The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reporting air quality in parts of the state has reached unhealthy levels. Children, older adults, and people with cardiac or respiratory issues are being urged to limit the time they spend outdoors. Much of Wisconsin is covered by a visible haze from wildfires burning in Ontario and Manitoba. Experts say paper masks aren’t effective against the particulates that can cause serious health issues. An advisory is in effect until midnight tonight (Wednesday). Officials are saying air quality should be improved statewide by Thursday morning.
