A federal judge has given an Oregon man a five-year prison sentence for an incident on an Amtrak train. Thirty-two-year-old Timothy Thomas of Portland pleaded guilty to a charge of intentionally interfering with an on-duty Amtrak railroad conductor. W-M-T-V reports authorities were notified November 7th, 2020 that an Amtrak engineer had stopped his train in Monroe County after a passenger had been waving an eight-inch knife around. Thomas had started threatening people as the train passed through the Wisconsin Dells area. At one point, he held the knife over his head and threatened the train’s conductor.
