Patricia Ann Brey, age 73, passed away Wednesday July 28, 2021 with her family at home in Alma Center.
Pat was born April 20, 1948 in La Crosse WI to Victor and Delores (Kendhammer) Hall. She grew up in La Cross and graduated from Logan High School. After high school Pat met Wilfred (Fred) Pfaff. They were married in 1966. They were soon joined by 7 children. Together, they farmed with Fred’s parents in rural Mindoro and then purchased a farm in rural Alma Center in 1971. Pat worked hard raising her kids on a farm. Pat and Fred were later divorced. While raising her children, Pat worked with Western Dairyland and also for many years as a cook at Jefferies where she met the love of her life, Verlyn Brey, in 1993. They were joined in marriage in 1997. They enjoyed many vacations in Hayward and traveled to casinos throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. Their biggest adventures took the to South Dakota, Florida, Georgia and Louisiana. Pat held many different jobs throughout her life, including preschool teachers’ aid, cook, and office assistant. Pat was a great cook and enjoyed making huge holiday meals for her family. She was known by many for; her potato salad, her pies and cheesecake, her banana bread, rice-crispy bars and her chocolate chip cookies. It was not uncommon for her to make 10-15 pies at a time and call her family and friends to come over and pick up their pies.
Pat loved raising her children, but, her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with the grandkids any chance she got. She loved fishing and boating with her family, annual Ladies weekends, and teaching the grandkids how to play poker and other card games.
Surviving Patricia are her children Edward Pfaff of Black River Falls, Mitchell (Veronica) Pfaff of Alma Center, Lori Pfaff of Huntsville AL, Kevin (Stephanie) Pfaff of Independence, Dale (Trish) Pfaff of Black River Falls, Lisa Pfaff of Alma Center, and Adam Pfaff of Fairchild; and her grandchildren Sami McCloskey, Kali Rochester, Kristen (Jose) Rivera, Elizabeth Pfaff, Nathan Pfaff, Henry Pfaff, Jose Maldonado, Ian Pfaff, Erin Pfaff, Alexander Pfaff and Wesley Pfaff; her sisters Ann (Clarence) Maack, Susan Hall and Vickie (Steve) Prindle; her brother Ralph (Patty) Zielke; her sisters-in-law Pat, Rita and Nina and many nieces and nephews.
