Peter Craig Hoyt, age 63, died at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse WI, on Saturday January 23, 2021.

Peter was born December 29, 1957 and grew up in Milwaukee WI., being raised by his mother Charlotte Mae Hoyt. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army. He did his basic training at Ft. Hood Texas. At Fort Hood he was trained and became a bomb disposal specialist. After training he was stationed in Germany. After a short time in Germany he returned to Fort Hood, Tx., where he continued his Army career. Peter spent most of his adult life working for the Army and Department of Defense. Peter then switched to the Army reserves and moved back to Milwaukee.

While in Milwaukee he met his future wife Susan. Peter and Susan were married October 19, 1985. After living in Milwaukee for a short period Peter retired and moved to Black River Falls to get away from the city. Susan then joined him in Black River falls a few months later.

Peter was known as a kidder and enjoyed teasing people if he had a little something on them. Peter was a good friend and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Surviving Peter are his wife Susan; his uncles Bruce and John Hoyt and nieces and nephews he considered ‘his children’. Peter will dearly be missed. God bless our memories of Peter Hoyt.

Funeral services for Peter will be held Tuesday February 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Torgerson Funeral Home, 408 N. Water St., in Black River Falls. Eldon Simonson will officiate. Full Military Honors will follow the service also at the funeral home. Friends may call on the family during a visitation from 10 to 11, the hour prior to the services.
