Rhonda Marie Stephenson (Jacobs), 60, of Ettrick, WI passed away unexpectedly at her home on
Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Rhonda, also lovingly known as “Boo” by her family and close friends, was born on October 15, 1964,
in La Crosse, WI and grew up in Galesville. She later moved to Blair where she met her devoted
husband, Kris Stephenson of almost 20 years. Rhonda and Kris recently purchased a quaint little home
in Ettrick to retire in and to be near their grandchildren. Working as a loyal and dedicated Activities
Director in the senior healthcare business for over 20 years, Rhonda was known as a loving and
compassionate person who wanted nothing more than to provide the best possible care for the
residence where she had worked, and she accomplished that goal by receiving countless praises from
both residents and colleagues.
One of the proudest accomplishments in Rhonda’s life was her family. Her children and grandchildren
were the center of her world, and she instilled in them the importance of love, kindness, and
forgiveness. But mostly, she emphasized to enjoy living life surrounded by those you love and to
appreciate the simple things that life had to offer. She loved camping in Holcombe, taking long walks,
gardening, birds, sharing stories around a campfire, lake rides on their pontoon- especially with the
grandkids, beach vacations, and cooking delicious food for her loved ones to enjoy. She will forever be
remembered as a loving, devoted, honest, compassionate, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother,
daughter, sister, and friend. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother: Ruthie Jacobs (Larson). She is survived by her husband
Kris Stephenson; children: Jessica (Chris) Collins, Casey Mathson (Megan Schultz); stepsons: Bryce &
Evan Stephenson (Tiahia Aune); grandchildren: Brynn, Axtyn & Drayce Collins, Adalyn Stephenson,
Abigail & Evalyn Stephenson; father; Dennis Jacobs; siblings: Debbie (Michael) Edie, Shelley (Michael)
Carafano, & Shane Jacobs, and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Rhonda’s Life will be held on July 5, 2025, at the Redsten Shelter at Orville Dusso Park,
22734 Summit Street, Ettrick, WI from 12PM – 4PM.
