Rose Prokop, 94, of Independence, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Gundersen Tri-County Memorial Care Center in Whitehall.
Rose was born June 10, 1926 in Montana Township, Buffalo County, to August and Mary (Marsolek) Palkowski. She married Roman Prokop September 3, 1946. He died January 18, 2004.
Rose farmed with her husband in Burnside Township. She was a farm wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an active member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and visiting with family and friends.
Rose is survived by two sons, Richard Prokop, and David (Peggy) Prokop; daughter, Pat (Jack) Luethi; four grandchildren, Jackie (friend, Doug Cooke) Luethi, James (fiancée Kaitlyn Vagt) Luethi, John (Jenny) Luethi and Jeff Prokop; three great-grandchildren, Joel Luethi, Micah and Lily Prokop; two sisters-in-law, Patricia and Loretta Palkowski; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three children, Mary Ellen, George, and Daniel; brothers, Roman, George, August, Andrew, Peter, and an infant brother.
Mass of Christian Burial (with COVID-19 guidelines) will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to Mass.
