Roy John Kujak, 83, of Arcadia, died Tuesday, February 6, 2024 peacefully at his home surrounded by
family.
Roy was born February 25, 1940 in Arcadia to Harry and Alice (Benczyk) Kujak. On June 16, 1962, he
married the love of his life, Verna Przybilla and together they had six children. Roy was a member of
Holy Family Parish. Roy grew up and worked on the family farm for over 70 years with his brothers, and
later his sons. He was a loving father and grandfather who was the anchor of his family.
Roy was patient and kind with a calm demeanor (unless the cows got out). Roy had a tremendous work
ethic and had a joy for farming and the variety it offered. He loved the promise of planting season and
the reward of the harvest. Roy loved driving anything John Deere. He enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi
River and annual fishing trips to Otter Lake. Roy also enjoyed sitting around the campfire with friends
and family sharing stories about the good old days. Roy had an amazing sense of humor with an uncanny
ability to deliver the funniest lines and comments at the perfect time, and had an unforgettable laugh.
One of kind.
Roy had soft spot in his heart for all animals, but he especially loved his border collie, Sassy. They were
inseparable, especially at the farm, she would be riding beside him on the 4-wheeler, in the truck, and
even in the tractor cab. She proved to be a loyal companion at the farm and also at home up until his
final days.
Roy is survived by his six children: Russell (Kathy) Kujak of Arcadia, Regina (Mike) Wantock of Springville,
IA, Rita (David) Sosalla of Arcadia, Renee (Brad) Wozney of De Pere, WI, Rory (Stephanie) Kujak of
Arcadia, and Rosanne (Matt) Wozney of Buffalo Grove, IL; and 12 grandchildren: Lynsey, Mitchel, Jamie,
Dylan, Josh, Mack, Adam, Jenna, Reese, Savana, Ari, and Ian; and 9 great-grandchildren: Macy, Madelyn,
Mackenzie, Lyla, Vayla, Kayden, Eli, Delilah, and Owen.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Verna; grandson, Dustin Sosalla; and siblings, George, Edwin, Grace
Larson, Sylvia Scott, Alice Haase, Rosemary Pronschinske, Marcella Lessman, and Louise Kujak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Holy Family Parish with
Reverend Kyle Laylan officiating. Friends and family are welcome for visitation beginning at 9 a.m. until
the time of service. Roy will be laid to rest in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers
and honorary bearers will be Roy’s grandchildren. To leave an online condolence for his family, please
