Ruth Burnett, age 79, passed away December 30th, 2021. She was born January 26, 1942 in Black River Falls, WI to Ralph and Ethel (Preston) Burnett.
Ruth was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth. She lived at home with her mother until her mother’s passing in 1987. With some help, Ruth was able to live on her own for the next 17 years, until her condition merited more assistance. In May 2004 she moved to a group home run by Sandy Chojnacki, where she lived until her passing.
Ruth enjoyed reading Christian books, listening to old country music and church services on WWIS radio. Due to her health, Ruth endured many physical challenges. Her faith in God carried her through those challenging times.
She is survived by her brothers Donald (Sue) Burnett of England, Robert Burnett of Black River Falls; sisters, Lucille Lindsay of La Crosse, Doris Miller of Holmen, and Charlotte Heller of Black River Falls; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by h er parents; brothers Jerald, and Allen; two sisters, Elizabeth and Mildred.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at Buswell Funeral Home with Pastor John Cowles officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
