A fatal hit-and-run crash shut down westbound Interstate 90 near Highway 12 in Sauk County Monday afternoon.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says an SUV and a pickup truck collided while traveling eastbound around 1:30 p.m. The impact sent the pickup across the median into the westbound lanes, where it was struck by two semi trucks.
The pickup driver was killed, and one semi driver suffered minor injuries. Westbound I-90 was closed for about six hours while crews responded and investigated.
Authorities say the driver of the SUV fled the scene in another vehicle. The crash remains under investigation, and anyone who witnessed it is asked to contact the Wisconsin State Patrol by emailing DOTSWRIncident@dot.wi.gov.
