The School District of Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan is receiving a state grant to fund a new fabrication laboratory. The grant was awarded by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. The fabrication laboratory, or fab lab, is designed to equip students with the essential skills for the 21st century’s global economy. The Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan School District received $24,816 as part of the grant to create a fab lab, and Ashley Furniture Industries LLC is donating an additional $10,000 towards the development. The school district is one of 28 throughout the state that received the grant, and a total of $635,089 has been awarded to those schools this year.
