Two area businesses and a non-profit will be recognized on March 22nd and receive awards during the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. THe 2020 Business of the Year Award is going to the Merillan Cafe, the 2020 Emerging Business of the Year Award is going to Serene Clean, and the 2020 Service of the Year Award is going to the Jackson County Trail Riders. The Merillan Cafe was recognized for their work on meal deliveries, and owner Kathleen Sullivan’s donations to various community organizations. Emerging Business of the Year for 2020, Serene Clean has been open since April of 2019, and now has 2 locations, one in Black River Falls, and the other in Sparta. The Jackson County Trail Riders maintain 18 miles of single track motorcycle trails, and had 32 volunteers put in 514 hours of clearing brush this past year.
