Tomah Health will reopen its Urgent Care facility beginning March 1.

Emergency Services Director Suzanne Downing said a drop in patient volumes in the hospital’s Emergency Department is allowing for the Urgent Care opening.

Urgent Care at Tomah Health was suspended January 1 due to extremely high patient demand caused in part to large numbers of COVID patient visits.

At the time, the hospital’s Emergency Department- which houses the Urgent Care area -was seeing more than 90 patients a day.

Downing said while Tomah Health is still seeing above average numbers for this time of the year, they are now in a better position to accommodate those patients.

Urgent Care will be available Monday thru Friday from 5 P-M to 9 P-M plus Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10 A-M to 4 P-M.
