Two people were injured after an early morning two-vehicle accident on Highway 27 in Monroe County on New Year’s Eve. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 911 call came in around 6:40 a.m. of a two-vehicle head on crash in the Township of Little Falls. Once deputies arrived on scene a GMC Acadia was blocking both lanes of traffic, and a Chevy Trail Blazer was off the roadway against trees. An investigation, along with a witness report showed that the Acadia had crossed the centerline and struck the Trailblazer. The Acadia was driven by 31-year-old William Hoover, and the Trailblazer by 55-year-old Dawn Zillmer. Both were transported by Ambulance to the hospital for their injuries. Hoover was later taken into custody for reckless driving causing injury, operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance, felony bail jumping, and a warrant. The crash is still under investigation.
