Wallace ‘Wally’ Carrier, age 71 died at home, Easter Sunday April 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Wally was born December 3, 1941 at the family homestead on the Ft. Peck Assiniboine Indian Reservation in Montana to Benjamin and Frances (McAdams) Carrier.

Wallace was a hard working family man. He worked some 22 years doing foundry work for Douglas Manufacturing in Minneapolis before finding his dream job working at different Ho-Chunk Casinos in their surveillance departments. He was a happy, loving father, husband, and grandpa always silly, always singing and smiling with his contagious laughter. He loved to play his piano and being an early riser could be heard singing jingles from the kitchen while he cleaned and prepared breakfast for anyone lucky enough to get up as early as he. Often times he would sneak away with the earliest waking grandchild or two to go somewhere ‘special’ for breakfast just with grandpa.

Wally had a passion for the finer things in life and loved to show off his bling and his Cadillacs. But the finest was the love of his life Ida. He loved being at the Casino with Ida playing BINGO. He loved bowling with Ida in couples leagues and even traveling to Las Vegas to bowl in tournaments with her. He enjoyed their travels together going to Hawaii, Wyoming and Montana or wherever Ida wanted to go.

Wally enjoyed the older western movies and TV programs, old country music, and Elvis. He enjoyed conversation and visiting people which made him a wonderful AMWAY rep for a period of time as well. He was a generous man with his time and treasures and if you were in need, he would have given you his last $20 if it could help. Wally loved his dogs. He will be greatly missed by anyone fortunate enough to have met the man. God bless our memories of Wally Carrier.

Surviving Wally are his children Janice (Christopher) Basswood, and Greg (Valerie) Blackdeer, Angel Carrier and Adam Carrier and their children; and by his other grandchildren Benjamin (Austine) Basswood, Jaysen Seargent, Tiana (Darin) LaFortune, and Isabella, Jacob and Wilbur Blackdeer, and Gregory Michael Basswood; as well as his 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother Narcisso Carrier of Fort Washakie Wyoming and a special friend Ernesto LaMere.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ida; his parents; and his grandson Kenneth Joseph Basswood.
