A warming shelter in Black River Falls through Hearts In Action, will be open Thursday-Sunday, from 5pm to 8am. The shelter is located at the United Methodist Church at 100 North 4th Street.
Community members are encouraged to help by volunteering for a shift, donating financially through the Methodist Church, providing snacks or meals, donating warm clothing and blankets, or assisting with keeping the facility clean and walkways clear of snow and ice.
Guests must check in before 7:00 p.m., there are no in-and-out privileges, and all posted rules must be followed.
Organizers say this effort is coming together quickly and appreciate the community’s flexibility and patience as they work through logistics to ensure a safe space for everyone involved.
