The Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service, or WIPPS, will honor the late Dave Anderson on October first in Wausau.
Anderson, who died in August 2025, spent more than four decades in public service. His career included serving as appointments director for Governor Tommy Thompson, policy director for Governor Scott McCallum, and district director for Congressmen Tom Petri and Sean Duffy.
He will posthumously receive the Bill Kraus Lifetime Achievement in Civic Leadership Award.
WIPPS and Rotary District 6220 will also announce the creation of the Dave Anderson Memorial Scholarship, supporting students who demonstrate a commitment to public service, civic engagement and their communities.
Following the ceremony, WIPPS will host a public panel discussion on effective governance and civility in polarized times at the UW Center for Civic Engagement in Wausau.
