Early retirements, low migration into the state and low birth rates are all reportedly contributing factors to a worker shortage in Wisconsin. Amy Pechacek with the Department of Workforce Development told W-K-O-W’s Capitol City Sunday there are many people actively looking for work, they just need to be connected to the right jobs. She says it is D-W-D’s job to make those connections. Currently the job center database organized by D-W-D has more than 50,000 active resumes.
