WISCONSIN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT NEWS RELEASE: SEOC UPDATE 1: April Severe Storms and Flooding

The Wisconsin State Emergency Operations Center remains active as severe storms and flooding continue to impact much of the state.

The center was elevated to Level 2 on April 14th and is working closely with county and tribal emergency managers. Reports include flooded roads, evacuations due to limited access, vehicle crashes, and ongoing sandbagging efforts.

State officials are coordinating with multiple partners, including the Wisconsin Departments of Military Affairs, Natural Resources, Health Services, Transportation, and the Salvation Army.

So far, five emergency resource requests have been made, including sandbags and personnel, hydraulic pumps for flood control, and activation of 2-1-1 services in Vernon County.

Officials urge residents to monitor weather alerts, follow local guidance, and stay prepared. Drivers are also advised to check road conditions before traveling by visiting 511wi.gov.
