When the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources open a wolf hunting season it had a kill quota of 119 and an ending date of Sunday. The initial season didn’t last until Sunday. State officials are reporting hunters and trappers had harvested 162 animals and the season was shut down statewide by Wednesday afternoon. This is not the first time that happened. Hunters and trappers also exceeded Wisconsin D-N-R targets during wolf hunting seasons in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
