If she’s elected governor, Republican Rebecca Kleefisch says she will hire one-thousand new police officers. Kleefisch and incumbent Governor Tony Evers went back and forth on the topic Monday. Evers points out that Kleefisch was lieutenant governor at the time former Governor Scott Walker cut back shared revenue for things like law enforcement. Evers says he tried twice to increase funding for law enforcement only to have Republican lawmakers block it.
