The state of Wisconsin wants the makers of so-called “forever chemicals” to cover the one-billion-dollar cost of cleaning them up. Governor Tony Evers says the companies knew about the negative health effects of PFAS for years. Among the companies named as defendants is Tyco Fire Products in Marinette. Evers says the state wants the 18 companies accused of being responsible for contaminating Wisconsin waterways to pay to clean them up.
