Zona Marie (Peterson) Bennett passed away on Friday morning, December 20, 2024 at
Pineview Care Center.
Zona was born December 18, 1950 to Forest and June (Iverson) Peterson. She was raised on
the family farm outside of Tomah, Wisconsin. She graduated from Tomah Senior High School in 1968.
She loved riding her horse, Silver, and fishing and hunting. Zona married Terry Bennett on
June 14, 1969 at St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Kirby, Wisconsin. Zona remained and avid
fisher and hunter up until recent years when her Parkinson’s advanced.
Zona is survived by her husband of 55 years, Terry; three sons, Terry (Gloria), Greg (Kelly),
Christian (Nikki); 13 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren; sister Carol Mullen (Frank),
sister Debra Zeller (Jerome); and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Forest and June Peterson; in-laws Harold and Leta
Bennett; one son, Wyatt; a grandson, Cody Bennett; brothers-in-law George, Lyle, Don, Larry
Bennett, Roger Griffin; Steven Hoff; brother Forest Peterson Jr; sisters Linda Hoff, Bernadine
Griffen, sister-in-law Barbra Peterson.
Zona will be greatly missed by many.
