The city of Kenosha likes big Powerball wins. For the Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Powerball drawing, a winning $50,000 ticket was sold at Festival Foods on 3207 80th St. in Kenosha. It is the second time a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold from a Kenosha Lottery retailer in the last two months.
The winning ticket matched four of five numbers (17-34-56-60-61) plus the Powerball (9).
For the Wednesday, April 10 Powerball drawing, a winning $50,000 ticket was sold at Meijer Gas Station on 7735 Green Bay Rd. in Kenosha.
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.
For the Kenosha Festival Foods location, selling large winning tickets is part of its Lottery history. Since June 2017, the store has sold winning scratch tickets of $500,000, $100,000, and $10,000 along with winning lotto tickets of $99,000, $81,000, $50,000 and $36,000.
Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com. Players can also check their tickets using the Wisconsin Lottery mobile app, available at the App Store, or Google Play.
The odds of winning a $50,000 Powerball prize are 1:913,130.
Powerball drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. to be included in a drawing. Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the option to buy the Power Play feature for an additional dollar.
