Adult & Teen Challenge of Western Wisconsin Expands into Men’s Residential Recovery

Adult & Teen Challenge of Western Wisconsin is celebrating a major expansion in its Christ-centered recovery work. Beginning in early 2026, the organization will welcome The Gospel TLC of Wausau into its family, establishing a new men’s recovery campus in central Wisconsin.

Leaders say the partnership brings together two ministries driven by the same mission—helping people break free from addiction and rebuild their lives through faith, structure, and compassionate support. Executive Director Kevin Schaler called the move “a meaningful step forward,” adding that the combined effort will allow them to reach more people, strengthen more families, and bring hope to communities in need.

Adult & Teen Challenge of Western Wisconsin has already seen powerful results at its La Crosse women’s campus, which opened in 2019. The program has provided safe shelter and recovery support to 150 women, along with thousands of nights of AfterCare housing to help graduates stay on a solid path.

By joining forces with The Gospel TLC, the organization will now be able to offer those same life-changing opportunities to men in the Wausau region. Leaders say the partnership not only increases available beds and services but also strengthens long-term stability as the two ministries grow together under a unified name to be announced later.

Community members and supporting churches are encouraged to keep the transition in their prayers as both programs work to ensure a smooth, mission-focused merger.
