Fort McCoy will host its 2026 Armed Forces Day Open House Saturday, May 16th, at the installation’s historic Commemorative Area. The free public event runs from 9 to 3 and will feature military vehicle displays, marksmanship galleries, interactive activities, and a performance by the 204th Army Band. Historian Ward Zischke will give talks on Army history, while visitors can explore World War II-era buildings, the Equipment Park, and Veterans Memorial Plaza. Adults must show ID to enter, and organizers say the day promises fun and educational experiences for all ages. Attendees to Fort McCoy’s Armed Forces Day Open House must enter through Gate 20 off of Highway 21 between Sparta and Tomah.
