Arson is suspected in an early Thursday morning fire. According Black River Falls Chief of Police Chief Jeremy Isensee, when his department arrived at the 300 block of Alder Street, just after midnight, circumstances of the fire were suspicious in nature and prompted the response of the Division of Criminal Investigation’s State Fire Marshal unit. Chief Isensee says the incident is believed to be an isolated event with no threat to the community. One firefighter was injured. No one else was hurt. The Alder Street fire remains under investigation.
