On January 3, 2019, at about 1:10 PM, a robbery was reported at the Jackson County Bank in
the Village of Alma Center. The suspect was reported to be a white female and a clothing
description was provided. The suspect fled on foot and was not located in the area. In
November of 2018, the Jackson County Bank Motor Branch in the City of Black River Falls was
also robbed in a similar fashion. The suspect had similar descriptors and behaviors.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office followed new leads in the case which led them to a person
of interest. Further information and evidence tied suspects to both robberies. The female in
question was located in Taylor County.
The subject was identified as Michaela Davis, age 26, of Medford, Wisconsin. Davis was
arrested for the bank robbery and booked into the Jackson County Jail. The Jackson County
District Attorney’s Office has filed formal charges against Davis for her involvement.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Marshfield Police Department, Medford Police
Department, and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
At this time, Davis retains her presumption of innocence until adjudicated otherwise in a court
of law.
The case is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. No further information will be
released at this time.
