Betty Lou Duxbury, 88, passed away Saturday, July 20 th , 2024, at Dove Healthcare – West, Eau Claire.
Betty was born April 12 th , 1936, to Odin and Mabel Mitskogen of Blair, WI. She attended school in a one room
schoolhouse in Vosse Coulee, Trempealeau County and attended high school in Blair, WI. On June 12, 1953,
she married James C. Duxbury of Hixton, WI. They resided in rural Northfield for all 69 years they were
married. Together they had three daughters.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and quilting in later years. She worked part-time as a cook and
waitress at Gabriels Bar and Café in Northfield. Later she worked at Floral Farm in Pigeon Falls followed by
janitor at the Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church.
Betty is survived by her daughters Jo Ann D. Fuerbringer, Eau Claire and Betsy L. Duxbury, Milwaukee.
Grandchildren Kirsten (Tom) Wagner and Brent (Celeste) Fuerbringer. Great-grandchildren Grant, Landon,
Theodore Wagner, Mira and Leona Fuerbringer. Siblings Beulah Koxlien, Phillip Mitskogen and Wyllis Olson.
Preceded in death by her husband, James C Duxbury, daughter Faith D. Esser, parents Odin and Mabel
Mitskogen, parents in law Raymond and Linda Duxbury and siblings Florine Koxlien, Madeline Nyen, Phyllis
Sampson, Clatyon, Odin, Belah and Wayne Mitskogen.
Visitation will take place one hour before the service, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the
Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church, Northfield WI. Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David
Christianson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Parkinsons Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, or the charity of your
choice.

during her stay.
