Back in Time Bison Ranch in Portage County is inviting the public to a unique, free pasture walk event on Thursday, June 19 from 4 to 7 PM. Hosted by ranchers John and Cindy Gedritis, this event will showcase their experience rotationally grazing bison on 100 acres.

The evening kicks off in the barn with a presentation on Bison Basics, followed by a hayride across the pastures, offering a firsthand look at their grazing system, bison handling facilities, and hopefully some newborn calves. The night wraps up with bison meat sampling, refreshments, and a peek into a soil pit to learn more about land health.

John and Cindy have been raising bison for nearly three years and market their meat directly. This event is ideal for anyone interested in managed grazing or learning how bison farming compares to traditional livestock.

The event is organized by Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development Council, with support from USDA-NRCS and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.

📅 RSVP is required by June 17.
