On August 6, 2025, at about 6:26 AM, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a
single vehicle roll-over crash on County Road C in the Franklin Township.
At the scene, Deputies located the crashed vehicle and found the driver to have been ejected. It
was believed that the driver had not been wearing a seatbelt. The driver was transported from
the scene via helicopter but later declared deceased. No one else was found with the vehicle.
Based on witness statements, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to
negotiate a curve. The vehicle entered the ditch and struck a driveway causing it to become
airborne before coming to rest.
The driver was identified as Aurora Olson, age 19, of Black River Falls.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Taylor Fire Department, First Responders, and the Black
River Falls Ambulance service.
