Jackson County Broadband Work Group continues to meet monthly with stakeholders
and has prepared a presentation to share with rural community members.
Representatives from Bug Tussel will also be in attendance.
Three meetings will be held with refreshments available. Locations and dates are as
follows:
 Taylor Town Hall – Monday July 15, 6 p.m.
 Knapp Town Hall – Tuesday, July 16, 6 p.m.
 Melrose Village Hall – Wednesday, July 17, 6 p.m.
“Residents in the City of Black River Falls are fortunate to have access to high-speed
internet services from several companies,” stated Jeff Amo, Chair, Jackson County
Board of Supervisors. “However, the majority of people living in our rural Towns are not
able to receive broadband speeds. We are committed to closing that technology gap.”
The Broadband Workgroup has collaborated with four different internet service
providers on grant applications. It plans to build on those relationships now that over $1
billion dollars is available to Wisconsin communities through the federal Infrastructure
Law known as BEAD. Almost all of Jackson County outside of Black River Falls will
qualify for funding to bring high-speed internet to residents.
Workgroup members will share information on past and current activities as well as
inform rural residents of what is needed to successfully get Jackson County’s fair
portion of the $1 billion.
More information on broadband can be found on the Jackson County website at
